Digital load cells, scales and weighing solutions with capacitive technology from Eilersen

Eilersen has been developing high-quality industrial sensors for measuring force and weight for over 50 years. The company has developed a unique and worldwide patented capacitive measurement technology, which gives the sensors, among other things, enormous robustness and high accuracy. Eilersen is valued worldwide for its products - leading companies from more than 90 countries trust Eilersen.

Eilersen's history

The company, based in Switzerland and Denmark, was founded in 1969 by Nils Eilersen. Like many ideas, the founding idea for Eilersen came about more by chance. In 1958 Nils Eilersen was asked by his father to develop an electronic scale for the family's furniture company. The scale was to be used to measure the dryness of the wood in order to find out whether it could be used for furniture production. Although Nils Eilersen developed the desired scale, he felt there was still room for improvement in the accuracy and sensitivity of the measurement and the technology behind it.

During his studies, Nils Eilersen explored further possibilities to make more robust and accurate measurements. After his studies he worked for a company that developed industrial test equipment. Here he recognized the potential of capacitive technology.

He then founded Eilersen Electric A/S in 1969 and patented the capacitive measurement technology in 1971. Due to the advantages of this technology, Eilersen developed a load cell based on the capacitive measuring principle. The company was one of the first installations to use stainless steel load cells for process weighing.

Since its foundation, Eilersen's product portfolio has grown considerably and the family business, which is now managed by Nils Eilerson's son, Frederik Eilersen, holds more than 10 patents.

Eilersen supplies companies from more than 90 countries and has become a world-renowned company since its foundation.

Eilersen's products and production process

Eilersen's products are developed, manufactured and individually calibrated in the company's own production facilities in Denmark and Switzerland. The company's products include digital weighing terminals, scales, weighing solutions and digital load cells with capacitive digital technology, which are made of stainless steel and hermetically sealed to IP68 by laser welding. Eilersen load cells are ideal for use in complex and demanding industrial applications. Among other things, they are valued worldwide for their high accuracy (up to OIML C6) and exceptionally high reliability. Eilersen load cells and weighing solutions can be supplied in OIML, IECEx and ATEX certified versions and are ISO 9001:2015 certified.
