Here you can find our extensive portfolio of industrial foot switches, pedal switches and foot pedal switches, which are available in different design and function types and are certified according to the latest safety regulations.
Furthermore, you will find information on the types of foot switches, the operating variants, areas of application and much more on this page.
WHAT IS A FOOT SWITCH?
Foot switches can be found on machines and equipment that are not operated manually by employees. They are used to either start or stop a production or an application process. Just like other products in the area of switch technology, foot switches, foot pedal switches and foot pedal switches must function perfectly in a wide variety of production conditions and be reliable in the long term.
WHICH MACHINES ARE CONTROLLED VIA FOOT SWITCHES?
Machines that are controlled by a foot switch are for example:
- Spinning machines
- Shearing machines
- Machine Tools
- Wrapping machines
- Riveting presses
WHICH TYPES OF FOOT SWITCHES ARE AVAILABLE?
Foot switches are available for different requirements. Depending on the environmental and application conditions, there are, among others, foot switches in single-pedal versions, with and without protective cover, with and without emergency stop button, two-pedal with and without protective cover and three-pedal with and without protective cover as well as foot switches with foot rest and foot switches with enable function.
WHICH OPERATING OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE?
The foot switches in our product portfolio are manufactured for the following operating options:
Free motion of the lever
Contact position follows pedal movement: actuated when the pedal is pushed down, released when pedal is in state of rest.
- Movement of the lever dependent of the safety device notch
The pedal can be actuated only by lowering the safety lever fully inserting the foot, thus preventing any accidental actuation.
- Device to maintain the lever in lowered position
Same operation as free movement, excepted that a state of rest is obtained only after having unlatched the pedal with the end of the foot.
By pushing the lever the contact switches and the lever remains locked in lowered position.
- Free movement with two-stage actuating force
Two different contact blocks are actuated with a different force on the lever.
By applying a light pressure F1 on the lever, the first contact block will be actuated while the sec- ond keeps in state. A higher pressure F2 on the lever will switch also the second contact block.
- With safety device notch and two-stage actuating force
Same as above but the pedal can be actuated only by completely inserting the foot in the device.
